Lyutov Dmitry is a Shidōin (teacher) of the Hokushin Ittō-ryū Hyōhō at the Chiba-Dōjō. He holds the second scroll, the Hatsu-Mokuroku. In his professional life he works as a Senior Technical Consultant in the area of network and IT security with NTT DATA Germany GmbH.

He started with Japanese martial arts as he began kendō training in Autumn 2001 at Kendo-München e.V. He holds a 3rd Dan in kendō and still trains beside his training Hokushin Ittō-ryū. His passion for kendō led to a desire to learn more about the roots of this modern sport and he wanted as well learn the handling of real swords (shinken). At a kendō seminar in 2010 he heard for the first time from a Japanese teacher the name “Ittō-ryū” and that different Ittō-ryū lines had a tremendous influence on modern kendō. At that time there was no possibility to learn Ittō-ryū (in any form) in Munich. Beginning 2015 Lyutov-Shidōin found by chance the Chiba-Dōjō of the Hokushin Ittō-ryū in Munich and became a student immediately. On the very same day he entered the dōjō, the sixth Sōke Ōtsuka Yōichirō stayed in Munich and Lyutov-Shidōin became acquainted with him. In May 2015 he was allowed to perform the keppan (blood oath) and with this become a full member of the Hokushin Ittô-ryû.

After he trained hard and intensely on a daily basis under Ōtsuka Ryūnosuke-Sensei and as well visited a couple of seminars in and outside of Japan, his long kendō experience payed off and he made fast progress. On July the 31st in 2015 he was able to pass the first examination and to receive the Kirigami scroll from Ōtsuka Yōichirō-Sōke. This happened at the yearly seminar of the Hokushin Ittō-ryū Hyōhō in Matsushirō, Japan. This pushed his motivation and he intensified his training. Therefore, on October 12th 2015 at the autumn seminar of the school he was able to pass the second examination and to receive the Hatsu-Mokuroku scroll from Ōtsuka Yōichirō-Sōke as well as to be awarded the title of Shidōin (teacher) of the Hokushin Ittō-ryū.

At the appointment ceremony of the 7th Sōke Ōtsuka Ryūnosuke on March 26th 2016 in Japan he was accorded the honor to perform the Hokushin Ittō-ryū Ai-Kodachi Kata with Klaaßen Jan-Shidōin.

Currently he supports the training activities at the Chiba-Dōjō and deputizes Ōtsuka Ryūnosuke-Sōke together with the other Shidōin when the latter is teaching in Japan or other branches of the Hokushin Ittō-ryū.
